Corporate Treasury & Balance Sheet Management in volatile markets
In the fifth episode of the 2026 edition of Gamma Explains, we explore the topic of Corporate Treasury and Balance Sheet management in volatile markets – essential functions and tools for the successful management of liquidity, risks, as well as assets and liabilities for any type of company.
Against this backdrop, Andrea Beltratti (Chairman of the EFG Gamma Foundation and Full Professor at Bocconi University) and Kurt Haueter (Head of Global Markets & Treasury, EFG International) define what the corporate treasury function does and what role treasury and balance sheet play within a company’s actual operations. They also discussed how corporate treasury and balance sheet should be managed in volatile markets in order to support a company’s financial health as well as sustainable growth. They also emphasised that a successful company not only makes great products and services, but it also manages financial resources in a way to balance the short-term need and the long-term growth in the interest of both shareholders and stakeholders.
