The first episode of Gamma Explains is dedicated to the topic of inflation, a multifaceted issue that plays a crucial role in shaping market dynamics and economic policies.
Nowadays its importance continues to be underscored by its pervasive impact on consumer behaviour, investment strategies, wage dynamics, global trade, and overall economic stability. Understanding and managing inflation is essential for policymakers, businesses, and investors alike to navigate the complexities of modern economies.
Against this background, Andrea Beltratti (Chairman of the EFG Gamma Foundation and Full Professor at Bocconi University) and Daniel Murray (Deputy CIO & Global Head of Research at EFG) explain what inflation is, the different types of inflation as well as how investors can protect their investments with both low and high inflation situations, and what are the best assets to protect from the risk of inflation.
