As companies work towards the goals set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, private philanthropy remains key in enabling them to provide targeted resources, guidance and support to many communities. Against this backdrop, strategic philanthropy, which is defined as the intentional and thoughtful integration of charitable giving into a firm’s business strategy and values, has emerged as an important concept. By integrating social impact with specific goals, it transforms philanthropy from simple donations into purposeful investments.
In line with its mission to promote discussions and foster greater knowledge and understanding of current or forward-looking topics, with this new conference the EFG Gamma Foundation is bringing together a number of experts to explore the challenges and opportunities of strategic philanthropy. In particular, the conference aims at contributing to a better understanding of strategic philanthropy and its benefits, showing that nowadays it is not merely about donating money. Instead, it is increasingly designed to create sustainable impact that aligns the values and long-term social and financial goals of companies and individuals.
